17³Ô¹ÏÍøÌý(NNDSB)Ìýwould likeÌýto thank you forÌýyourÌýcontinued efforts to protect students and staffÌýfrom COVID-19. YourÌýcaution, cooperation,Ìýand commitmentÌýto public health has minimized disruptions to learning andÌýincreasingly made our schools saferÌýfor in-personÌýactivities.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, the possibility of a transition toÌýremote learningÌýremains. While we have receivedÌýno indicationÌýfrom either the Ministry of Education or public health officials that schools will close, we want to make sure we areÌýpreparedÌýtoÌýfacilitate a smooth transition to remote learning ifÌýdirected to do so.
Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure your family is prepared for aÌýpossible transitionÌýto remote learningÌýafter the winter break,Ìýwe ask that you consider the following:
- Ask yourÌýstudentÌýto bringÌýhomeÌýall learning materials and personal items from desks and lockers, and any tools or supplies theyÌýwillÌýneed to pivot to remote learning.
- Families that ²Ô±ð±ð»åÌýthe use of board-providedÌýtechnology to access remote learningÌýareÌýasked to complete theÌýÌýtoÌýcommunicateÌýtechnology needs.ÌýFamiliesÌýthatÌýhave devices for their students areÌýnot required to complete the survey.
- Inform the school if there have been changes to your e-mail, phone number or other contact information.ÌýThis information is critical to support ongoing school/parent communication during times of remote learning.
- Visit theÌýNear NorthÌýPassport to LearningÌýwebpage to access a variety of resources and helpful links to supportÌýremote learning including technical support, information aboutÌývirtualÌýlearning platforms, and instructional resources.
