Student Services can help direct and<\/span><span class=\"Apple-style-span ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-1 ms-rteFontSize-1\">\u00a0prepare students for\u00a0the future. \u00a0T\u200bhere is a wealth of information to assist students with\u00a0course selections, apprenticeships, career development and post-secondary education.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Guidance Counsellors: Kim Larivee, Steph Silverthorn, Nicole Cartwright.<\/p>\n<h3>Course Selection<\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"Apple-style-span ms-rteThemeForeColor-2-1\">Through their courses, students can explore career and interest options, complete compulsory credits and earn prerequisites for post-secondary programs. Students can browse the online Course Calendar and begin guided course selections in February. Grade 8 students begin learning in December about high school courses and credits.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Counselling<\/h3>\n<p>Students may access our\u00a0guidance counsellors, or youth counsellor, Kerri Renaud by making an appointment or by chance dropping in. We offer\u00a0the opportunity\u00a0to talk about careers, courses or personal issues in a friendly, confidential environment. Have a problem? Let us help!<\/p>\n<h3>Student Success\/Tutoring<\/h3>\n<p>Students who are struggling with course materials are encouraged to speak with their classroom teacher first. Additional\u00a0support during focus period is available from the Student Success classroom (rm. 256). Students looking for tutoring can ask for the list in the guidance office. A variety of student and teacher tutors in a number of subject areas are available.
